In 2019 Mayumi won 4th Prize at the 2019 Tchaikovsky Interna<onal Compe<<on.

Previous awards include 2nd and Best Concerto Prizes at the 2018 Long-Thibaud Crespin Compe<<on in Paris.

As a soloist Mayumi has appeared with the Finnish Radio, Belgian Na<onal, Marinsky, Prague Radio Orchestra, Deutscher Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Kremerata Bal<ca and Trondheim Symphony Orchestras, among many others.

She has performed the Barber Concerto at the Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, been a featured performer on NPR in the US, and taken part in the Aspen and Verbier AcademyFes<vals. ConcerthighlightsincludetheLaeiszhalleinHamburg, Konzerthaus in Berlin and fes<vals in France, Germany, Russia and Japan.

This season Mayumi returns to Japan giving a recital in Tokyo, and appearing as soloist with the Yomiuri Nippon and Hiroshima Symphony Orchestras. In 2020 she makes her debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Born in 1994, of Japanese-American heritage, Mayumi studies attheHochschule fürMusikHannsEislerinBerlinwithKoljaBlacher. Awardsinclude1stPrizeatthe 2016 Princess Astrid (Trondheim) and the 2013 Jascha Heifetz Compe<<ons (Vilnius). She was selected by YCAT in 2019.
