The indisputable winner of the International Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition 2016, Lukáš Vondráček, has an exciting 2017/18 season ahead of him. It sees him make debuts with the Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra at Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra at the Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra.

He will return to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra with Marin Alsop, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra with Vasily Petrenko, the Orchestre National de Belgique, Prague, Bournemouth and Sydney symphony orchestras amongst others. Recitals will take him to Wiener Konzerthaus, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, the Louvre, a return to the Concertgebouw, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Portland, Chicago and to festivals such as PianoEspoo in Finland and the Rheingau Musik Festival. Lukáš starts off the season with a tour of Brazil with recitals and orchestra concerts in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Florianópolis.

Lukáš Vondráček made his first public appearance at the age of four. His debut as a fifteen-year-old in 2002 with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Ashkenazy was followed by a major US tour in 2003. His natural and assured musicality and remarkable technique have long marked him out as a gifted and mature musician. He has worked with conductors including Paavo Järvi, Gianandrea Noseda, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Marin Alsop, Christoph Eschenbach, Pietari Inkinen, Vasily Petrenko, Jakub Hrůša, Anu Tali, Xian Zhang, Krzysztof Urbański, Stéphane Denève and Elim Chan.

Recent highlights include concerts with The Philadelphia Orchestra, St Petersburg Philharmonic, the Philharmonia and New Jersey Symphony orchestras as well as recitals at the Mariinsky Theatre, in Mumbai, Singapore, Leipzig’s Gewandhaus, at Brussel’s Flagey and the Menuhin Festival Gstaad.

International awards include first prizes at the Hilton Head and San Marino International Piano Competitions and Unisa International Piano Competition in Pretoria, South Africa, as well as the Raymond E. Buck Jury Discretionary Award at the 2009 International Van Cliburn Piano Competition.

Following studies at the Academy of Music in Katowice and the Vienna Conservatoire, Lukáš Vondráček obtained an Artist Diploma from Boston’s New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Hung-Kuan Chen, graduating with Honours in 2012.

His first commercial recording, a solo album for Octavia Records, was released in 2004 followed by another recital disc in 2012. His most recent CD, a recording of works by Brahms was released in autumn 2013 on the ORF label.

Lukáš commencera la saison par une tournée au Brésil avec des récitals et des concerts symphoniques à Belo Horizonte, São Paulo et Florianópolis.

C’est à l’âge de 4 ans que Lukáš Vondrácek fit sa première apparition en public.
A l’âge de 15 ans, en 2002, il fit ses débuts en tant que jeune soliste avec l’Orchestre Philarmonique Tchèque dirigé par Vladimir Ashkenazy. S’ensuivit une grande tournée aux Etats-Unis, en 2003.
Sa musicalité naturelle et assurée, et sa remarquable technique l’ont depuis longtemps désigné comme un musicien doué et de grande maturité. Il a travaillé avec de nombreux chefs d’orchestre tels que Paavo Järvi, Gianandrea Noseda, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Marin Aslop, Chrsitoph Eschenbach, Stéphane Denève et Elim Chan.

Ses derniers concerts en tant qu’invité d’honneur furent ceux avec l’Orchestre de Philadelphie, La philharmonique de Saint-Pétersbourg, Les orchestre de la Philharmonique et Symphonique de New Jersey, ainsi que les récitals au Théâtre Marinsky, à Mumbai, Singapour, Leipzig’s Gewandhaus, à Brussel’s Flagey et au Festival Menuhin de Gstaad.

Il a été lauréat de nombreux concours et a gagné les premiers prix au Concours Internationaux de piano de Hilton Head et de San Marino, le Concours International de piano de Unisa à Prétoria, en Afrique du Sud, et aussi le Prix du Jury Raymond E. Buck au Concours International de piano Van Cilburn en 2009.

Lukáš Vondrácek a fait ses études à l’Académie de Musique de Katowice et au Conservatoire de Vienne ; puis au conservatoire de Boston, dans la classe de Hung-Kuan, où il a obtenu le Diplôme du Conservatoire de Boston’s New England, avec les honneurs, en 2012.

Son premier enregistrement, un album solo chez Octavia Records, est sorti en 2004, suivi d’un autre disque de récitals en 2012. Son CD le plus récent, est un enregistrement des œuvres de Brahms sorti à l’automne 2013 sous le label ORF.
